All Dressed Up- Rainy Day In Charleston
Posted on 22 August 2016
As wonderful as Charleston is, there are definitely a few more rainy days than there are here in St. Louis! We had a few tropical storms roll through this summer and it virtually rained for weeks at a time! When you still have places to go and people to see, it's hard sometimes to come up with a cute look that is also rainy-day resistant.
When I talked with Liz of Charleston Weekender on what we should wear on our rainy day out, we wanted to highlight items you can purchase with a purpose. For example, our Roma rain boots! For every pair of Roma boots purchased, a pair is stuffed with school supplies and given to a child in need.
If you're looking for a variety of pieces you can purchase with a purpose, Be The Change Boutique has you covered! They carry Roma boots, as well as the bangles we're wearing here! You can shop their site or stop in their adorable shop located on King Street!
One of my go-to's on a rainy day is a comfy tee, and how fricken' cute are these from Collectively Kate
?! Mine states, 'Sunday Funday' and Liz is rockin' the 'Yes Way Saturday' tee! One of the ways I like to 'purchase with a purchase' is to #ShopSmall! Kate, who runs and operates Collectively Kate
is an amazingly talented graphic designer and entrepreneur. I love knowing my purchase is appreciated by a creative entrepreneur just like me when I shop small!
Did I mention these adorable tees are only $18?! If you're looking to sport one with a skirt and want to knot it like me and Liz did here, I would recommend sizing up! Although there isn't usually too many rays on rainy days, the sun always comes out eventually here in Charleston. Keeping this in mind, we knew we would need to bring some sunnies along on our rainy day out!
I love the mixed prints on mine, and how Liz's round tortoise shell printed shades are so classic! Blue Planet Eyewear carries amazing quality glasses, most under $40! Even better, with Blue Planet's 'Visualize Change' initiative, with every pair purchased a pair is then given to someone in need.
So now that you know what to wear on a rainy day out (and how you can purchase with a purpose), be sure to head towww.TheCharlestonWeekender.com
